Should OEMs Launch their devices in Lagos, Nigeria

Lagos is a port and the most populous city in Nigeria. It is the second fastest-growing city in Africa and the seventh in the world. The population of Lagos according to the Lagos State Government, was 17.5 million. These figures are however disputed by the Nigerian Government and judged unreliable by the National Population Commission of Nigeria. The latest reports estimate the population at 21 million, making Lagos the largest city in Africa.

Lagos is Nigeria's economic focal point, generating a significant portion of the country's GDP. Most commercial and financial business is carried out in the central business district situated on the island. This is also where most of the country's commercial banks and financial institutions and major corporations are headquartered. Lagos has one of the highest standards of living as compared to other cities in Nigeria as well as in Africa.

Now why is a city deemed the largest city in Africa not even on the list of countries where mobile phone launches are held? I believe we have gotten to a point in Lagos Nigeria where we need Mobile Phone OEMs to bring or at least hold a launch of their product on our soil.

We hear of Samsung, HTC, Motorola, Nokia and a host of others holding launch events all around the world but we're all left out in Africa. The only region that seem to see stuff like this is South Africa.

First i think these guys need to do some research on how Nigerians are mobile phone freaks and like to have the latest gadgets and will probably spend their salary just to get a device. I f you know this i believe you can make device ranges that would fit the budgets of at least 40% of Lagosians (that's roughly about 8.4million people). If 8.4 million people buys your device, haven't you made some sort of name for yourself??? Or gained some ground in sales????

So #Samsung, #HTC, #Motorola, #Nokia, #Tecno, #Infinix, #LG, #APPPPPLE, #SONY, #Huawei, #ZTE, #Oppo, #ASUS, #Meizu, #Xiaomi, #Blu and all of ya out there, give Lagos, Nigeria a try... I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed. We need you to launch in our city.

Let me know what you think about Lagos being a city where phone launches are held on the comment box below.

Uncle Sam gives birth to 5th Son

So Samsung Announced it's fifth iteration of the Galaxy Series yesterday see video below:

My Daily Driver - Six Months Later

Hello freakazoids, I'll be writing on my daily driver and the platform on which it runs and why i use it. I suppose the last item there is what you really want to know. I've been using my daily driver for about 6 months now and I tell you it's been the best decision ever, well that comes after my experience with a 'Fat', Ugly and simply put distasteful looking phone from uncle Sam that i truly cant remember why i bought it in the first place. Anyway that aside, I had to go for what I determined was the best option for me. This device is beautifully crafted and runs on one of the most popular and well built OS we have on planet earth currently.

Ladies and mentlegen.... Oops!!! Ladies and Gentlemen, may I please intorduce you to the one and only..... wait for it.......

I definitely had to do this

So it's been calling me for months, years, to do something about my almost insatiable, Vampire like need to just speak about and talk about mobile devices... Phones to be more specific, and i'm gonna do it with the dexterity and smoothness of a Kung-Fu genius.

I've spent a lot of time with a wide array of mobile devices, heck! in 2013 alone I used not less than four (4) devices (Whaaaaattttt!!!!), that's 1 device every 3 months if you care to do the maths and this is a way for me to give back to the public (the Nigerian populace),  information about mobile devices that would be helpful in assisting them make a choice when next they want to purchase one of those sexy, tempting, spanking brand new mobile phones they've been eyeing but aren't just sure if it's the right one for them.

My friends have told me "You don't have work" and I've decided to make it my work to do this and shame all of them. Yes totally shame them all. After all the Good book says "whatever thy findest in thy hands to do, do it with all thy might". So i'm gonna do this with all my might, and strength, and every fibre, and every cell that's needed to put words together to talk about this ever changing mobile industry.
